I’ve seen snippets of “ unreleased” chapters of this manhwa on X and I’m so confused because I thought the translations were uploaded at the same time as Korean version
This manhwa is so overhyped for no reason. I caved in and read it because if everyone is raving about it, it’s probably a good read. HOWEVER, Imagine my utter suprise when the manhwa turned out to be absofuckinglutely one dimensional. There is no depth to the characters or their emotions, nothing that makes you crave their “ connection” if what you’ll even call what they have that. This is one case of manhwa where the character visuals are blinding enough to generate hype I fear. It feels all over the place and I genuinely haven’t connected with the characters. It’s not the worst read but it also doesn’t deserve the hype it gets. I would have enjoyed it far better if I had entered in reading just for the artstyle, not expecting anything, which is why I’m dropping it. So much potential :(
I get what you mean.. It is more popular for stunning art style but if you have read from the start and waited every week you would get why it was hyped. In the starting it was something i waited every week reading raws, unofficial translation and then official translation. But it is not as interesting as it was back then(▰˘◡˘▰)
It's a novel adaption and part of a series, and it came out 7-8 years ago. So it was talked about a lot even before the release. In addition you have the later dynamics of the pairing, which is like the opposite of Kiss me liar, which was released before.
The main story of KMIYC is one of the shortest of that author, and it's actually almost done. And it didn't help that the manhwa adaption skipped several things, for me as a novel reader it's probably only annoying, but manhwa only readers are unaware of what's missing.
Without the extras there also would be some loose ends, but the author tends puts things like that in extras. To see more of the children later you're even better off reading the extras of Kiss me liar.lol
For me KMIYC is one of the weaker stories of the author. Others probably love it as it is.
"Desire me if you can", the next one that will be released as a manhwa should be better if they don't mess up the adaption, because it is much longer and gives the characters more time to develop. And the author worked on it much longer.
But this one actually should have an even bigger hype than KMIYC, since that one was the most anticipated story of the author for many years.
And it's also still a matter of taste.

Right now i am reading "kiss me scumbag", can you tell your thoughts on that.. I am not really that much invested in this one... But i am just grateful reader who likes good redemption arc... I loved the story, don’t get me wrong, but the ending was so fast paced and the art style degrading during the last few characters made me want to discontinue it. I hated how the art style drastically changed after maintaining such a high standard of quality. Moreover, I I despised how the story ended. I genuinely can’t comprehend why they decided to rush it. My ratings went from 10/10 to 8/10

I found this manhwa way too early, got excited and forgot to marinate it ffs. Now I am so angst over every single chapter wanting more. BWT does really good job evoking heart stringing dialogues and scenes. My stomach hurts every time there is a new update cause the story buildup is so good
