Duh

I don't get why people always connect everything to romantic love lol. The ending is actually simple: after knowing the hardship his guardian was going to go through by himself, Shiki couldn't leave him behind. Shiki loved Sensei, but for him his only family who was always with him, his guardian, was more important. It's not romantic, merely familial love. That's why Shiki kept on wondering if he made the right choice letting Sensei go, because he loved him. And people who got angry at the guardian, duh. Don't judge people only on morality perspective without knowing their circumstance. I don't think he wanted Shiki to be a prostitute, but he might thought that living that way is better than Shiki dying on the street from poverty. That's why he didn't stop him, since he couldn't provide for him and give him a better life either. He created that place to protect Shiki, to give him a safe place after he got in trouble at his former workplace. At least at the place he managed, Shiki wouldn't get mistreated by anyone. But he still didn't want Shiki to keep living as a prostitute, that's why he wanted him to leave with Sensei, whom he thought could provide for him and protect him, no matter what would happen to him afterward.
