Thinking that everyone has an equal chance isn’t a very realistic mindset. I can’t speak on the US and Europe since that’s not where I’m from but looking at my own country (South Africa) it’s very clear that that’s not the case. Yes, people have a tendency to write every form of discrimination off as racism but sometimes it genuinely is just that, racism. You can’t say that using the same system that benefited white people and pushed people of color down into categories of being “non-human” could suddenly one day just be able to benefit them too. Yes people of color have luxuries now that they didn’t have before but they still aren’t able to move as freely up the ladder away from poverty. There are still people who believe that people of color are not of equal footing as humans simply because they’re of color. We can’t ignore that in this conversation. I’ve been discriminated against a few times for the color of my skin, the first time being in grade 6. Discrimination and racism is a serious issue in the world and just because you’re not on the receiving end, doesn’t mean it does not exist. If I’ve never experienced an earthquake, it doesn’t mean that earthquakes don’t actively affect other people.
Moreover, there’s a difference between cultural appreciation and appropriation. Taking something inherently belonging to a culture and just using it because it’s trendy or looks cool instead of educating yourself as to its origins and its significance in the community it belongs to is appropriating a piece of culture.

I was right about you being a RACIST. It pains you to hear that people to this day still experience Racism and that shows how privileged you are. I lived in Europe, America, and Asia and I have seen racism everywhere. In America black people still aren’t allowed to access better education by making sure their school system run by government is rundown and they don’t teach. The healthcare system both in USA and Europe is disgustingly racist to blacks, they get worst treatment and actually cause more harm and suffering to blacks. I’m a doctor anc everyday while working in those two continents I have to fight for my patients just to receive a better care since everyone especially nurses dismiss their pain. Financial system also discriminate against blacks in both continents, and don’t get me started with the police brutality against black people. Also in South Korea I have met many Africans who went to study there especially female students cry from their first experience of Racism. So your privilege ass doesn’t get to speak on something you lack knowledge off or experience.
