I thought it made sense given the situation that's been built up with him in the last few chapters (obviously he is in the wrong but it's not out of the blue) . He's still very young and has a lot of responsibilities. He has said it himself many times that he's extremely jealous and insecure. He's been bottling up his feelings and stress for a while now and i think it just blew up. People often say really out of pocket things in stress that they don't mean at all
This doesn't justify or excuse his behaviour though. I just think it made sense in my head why he blew up

Going on a cafe after work watching his boss eat while talking about really private matters so they could better understand each other while trying to think up lies and excuses for when he’s gonna be late to his and Minato’s date.
