They re-married. When I read the web novel I didn't wanted them to be together, but it was obvious that it would happen. You could say that there was some development, but Wen Nian Nian was let traumatized (bc of everything that happened). He did recover to some extent, and remarrying him allowed to stopped being anxious about being with Gu yansheng. Personally I liked him more when they broke up. Nian Nian was more independent and did no rely in Gu. He did rely on Tang Xhuou ( I don't remember how to write) , but just as a friend. When Gu has still trying to get Wen Nian Nian forgiveness wen nian nian didn't accept him, but he still was a afraid bc of the previous violence. The events that let to signing the divorce papers were intense and so were the one leading to their second wedding. For me the story got satisfying since the moment We Nian Nian arrived at the mansion after hurting his kidnappers. The are some things that need to happen for them to break up.

1. PICs of Wen Nian Nian and his psychiatrist, which will lead to Gu believing Wen Nian Nian was cheating. Shen luan's plan.

3. The argument between Wen and Gu. Gu will hit him and throw him into the basement, km knowing that he is afraid of the dark( due to saving Gu from the kidnappers when they were young)

6. Gu will give porridge, but mistreating and forcing him to eat
7. He will let Wen Nian to go visit when luan

9. They will attend a party an GU will take Shen Luan as his partner, and Wen Nian nian was taken by Gu's friend.
8. Bc Shen louan have previously framed someone from a powerful family, he was supposed to be Kidnapped. Instead, he told the kidnappers to take Wen Nian Nian (they were the same kidnappers from when he saved Gu.
9. When Nian Nian was Trying to escape Shen Louan hit him.
10. The kidnappers called Gu to demand for ransom, but he told them " I don't care if he lives or dies"
11. Wen Nian Nian was torture for 3 days in which he finally decided to let go. The shock cause bc of the kidnapping, torture and his decision made him lost any fear and pain sensation.
12. He decided to walk to the mansion. He got there covered in blood (he used his white suit from his first wedding), cuts, bleeding foot bc of walking barefoot and an injured leg.
13. After arriving he ask for something from his room, which was the divorce paper he already signed. He told everything that was wrong with their marriage and how he wasted 3 years of his life with Gu. The monologue was very satisfying, despite reading a bad translation XD. Wen Nian Nian threatened gu to sign the divorce papers (by putting a knife on his neck(nian's)) bc we was doubting. ?Everyone except Gu knows that Wen Nian Nian saved him not Shen louan but Wen Nian Nian silenced Gus 'Mother and told Gu "No matter happens. No matter what you hear after I'm gone. Don't you ever come back looking for me"
14 he then walked out of the door and passed out on the road. Gu couldn't stand his guilt after everyone told him that he was just cruel, so he decided to go after wen nian nian to take him to the hospital. He remained in a catatonic state for a while and then the story goes on...

I don't know if argument is the correct word. I meant to say that they argued and fought
