In the beginning I understood her being cautious, but at this point she should've acted earlier, now that Pythion's out, and she's afraid to put her neck on the line, the Duke will have to suffer in pain for a while until he's in brink of death, and she, as the grandiose heroine will save him last minute. I can already see it.
