The gore manga is not nsfw type of story, it was just heavy for me. Since, humans were humans, and animals were walking on two legs and the whole society got turned around.
In Madk there's just hell and demons and such and deities, and really cool designs, and very handsome and beautiful characters, story is entertaining, a bit sick yeah, but it's completely different.
There's two of those that I know
The one I'm talking about is" Doubutsu Ningen"
And second one with a bit similar topic "Jinmen"
If you like horror, gore, and overall heavy reads I think you will like those
