I feel like this story got the pacing just right, and honestly i feel like these characters are very honest with each other, and due to that reason any major or even minor conflicts would be caused by the ex. The author has to be careful with how they write the conflicts, though, because they have established the characters personalities through their actions and how they speak, so since they both would be very honest to each other, a conflict that happens because one lies to another or there is miscommunication is very unlikely, and if that is the cause, they have to be very careful in writing that.
