if I may, there is a small inaccuracy in the story: when you make a "handcrafted" soap with caustic soda, you have to let the soap rest for at least forty days in a warm and dry environment, so that the soda loses its effect. otherwise the soap will have a practically burning effect.

He blames her for the death of his wife so basically the carriage accident. He thinks she is cursed and that it was her fault
He hates the daughter so much because his wife died. And he blamed FL for it.
In the first time i think its because his wife passed away after gave birth the FL. But now i think there's something more complicated than that
