so, chloe and arelyn do become really good friends, but then a transmigrator from the real world comes in and takes over chloes body. the real chloe is completely aware of everything happening and is basically experiencing a "get out" moment. however, there is synchronicity between the real and fake chloe, and it is constantly dropping because the fake chloe wants to harm arelyn while the real chloe wants to protect her. i also want to say, obviously i feel bad for the real chloe, but i also feel bad for the fake chloe. from what i read, she has a system window like most isekais do, but her system window is constantly influencing her to do bad things, feeding into her frustration and making her hate arelyn, and at a point literally threatens her with death if she is unable to get rid of the "anomaly." but, avoiding as many plot spoilers as possible, i will say the thing that everyone wants to know: yes, the REAL chloe gets her body back and goes back to being best friends with arelyn!

I believe arelyn notices immediately when the real chloe gets taken over. based on the spoilers i read they put a lot of emphasis on how arelyn and chloe were best friends and arelyn could tell as soon as she saw her that it wasnt chloe anymore. it didnt say when it happens, but im assuming it takes place when theyre teenagers since its when the otome game plot starts, so its far off in the future and arelyn and chloe get to be friends for a long time before it happens
they are best friends! ogfl (chloe) and arelyn become really good friends, and (slight spoiler) chloe actually has a crush on harun, not pession, so theres no love drama between them either. its when the transmigrator/fake comes in that the plot separates them, but it doesnt actually screw up their relationship because arelyn knows its not the real chloe. from what i understand the fake isnt an overarching villain for the whole story, its just one of the arcs in the story, so for most of the story chloe and arelyn are in fact friends. but i could be wrong about that, so just be prepared i guess
If u want a fl and og fl best friend relationship then you can try 'I'm the corrupted side character's wife' I'd say not to be deterred by the ratings and go for it if it's your cup of tea. I really liked it myself, all aspects.
