Have you guys experienced sexual harassment, because I'm going through something right now. Recently I mentioned that I was ready to start dating again (it's been over a year since my last relationship) to my family. I live with my mother, brother, and my brother's friend who has lived with us for several years now. A few years ago I had a freinds with benefits relationship with my brother's friend and I ended it because I didn't want that kind of a relationship anymore (my brother and mother never knew). The friend then proceeded to send me disturbing text msg and would come into my room when I was sleeping and beg me to have sex with him. I refused him and told him off countless times and for the last few months, he has not bothered me. However, when I said I was ready to start dating again, I found that my vibrator disappeared. I have literally turned my room over to try and find it, but the only conclusion I can come up with, is that my brother's friend took it and I'm just frustrated and so violated and I just need to tell someone about it because I don't want to tell my mom or brother because I am ashamed and disgusted by the sexual relationship I had this guy. (If you read this whole thing, thanks, I appreciate it =)
I have personally never been in such a situation, and I don’t know how old you are.
However, no matter your age, I would honestly speak to whichever family member that you live with you’re closest with about this. At the end of the day, it’s your family home and your brothers friend is a stranger (in the sense that he’s not family), so I believe that unless you’re not very close with your family they would take your side. Parents in particular are very protective over their children no matter how old they get. (If you are under 18 though, I strongly advise you to speak to your parents about this). If you’re closer with your brother than your parents, maybe try speaking to him.
The fact that this friend has been taking advantage of your family by living in your home for years and being confident enough to do that to you in your own home is horrible.
It is very much unfair that you’re being made to feel this way in your own home and I hope you’ll be alright.

I have personally never gone through this, but I agree with this person. It's always better to speak with you family, whoever you're closest with and whoever you are sure will have your back.
Can you put a locker on your bedroom door ? That's maybe the simplest way to talk about your unnease and the situation to your family : you could tell them you want a lock on that door and After a brief silence , you explain why (because you had unwanted visits during the night.) Visits with plural !!! That should be enough to make their skin crawl. _ if it's not possible to lock your door when you are going out of the house, normally it's very easy to install a locker so that you can have your own private and undistirbed space for the night. _ yes your family should know. _ I send you plenty of courage . And in the meantime you could also put a chair , a bag , etc.etc. in the way between your door and where you sleep. That way you will hear if someone comes and they will hit their toes in the dark ^^ _
I also have another trick for you that I have used when i had to share a bed with someone while I was truly exhausted so I wasn't sure that I would be able to communicate clearly and be assertive to them in the middle of the night (I hate being waken up by a man) so I have used a big cloth to.drape myself so as to make myself a long skirt, with 2 layers of drape and a strong double node at the waist, made with the corners of the drape. The guy thought I had interesting taste but it was for my peace of mind and safety. This is in case you don't feel safe and you cannot have a locker instantly. _ of course you can also prépare yourself about what to tell him if he comes back but , the practical tips will assist you even if you are drained/ exhausted / too tired to communicate . ___
