If this is a redemption arc, just let ML redeem himself properly by admitting his faults and make it up to Yanyan. So what's the twist? The tastes and style that he forces into the MC is his mom's and not his friend's?? That's bullshit. If that is the case why treat that friend so special in front of MC and disregarding him?? This doesn't make sense.
