Also, for his chibi face, the mouth kept throwing me off. I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to look like a mouth or if the character used as the mouth meant something. To me, it just doesn’t really look like a mouth expression so it’s hard to tell if he was being smug or innocent.

Plot wise, it’s hard to believe that he likes his friend as more than a friend. I could maybe see it happening if he were to admit it or something, but it would definitely feel forced and out of left field. His demeanor is so dull and stoic it’s hard to see it.
