In a sea of smut slop that I unfortunately have the gall to consume, this such a special read.
Does anyone else feel as strongly as I do towards this manhwa? I cried maybe eight times binging these past 30 chapters. I’m not much of a crier.
Just WOW… I’ve never read something that feels so authentic and real. Elliot’s emotional response to the brutal beheading of his kidnapper, followed by his questioning of his own mortality .. only a glimpse of how well written this story is BTW. Even his moments of jealousy and longing were written SO thoughtfully. So many instances that resonate so well when read. UGH, that one scene where Elliot angrily lists how people wronged and abused him as a worker, but in the same phrase notes the catalyst for all his frustrations is more due to the fact that the Duke doesn’t seem to recognize him as a love interest. Is that not the realest sentiment out there??? like when the line between whether or not your heartache stems from the {cumulative instances of hurt} vs. a {single instance of someone that means so much to you hurting you} is blurred. OR, how in the early chapters he views the Duke’s personal character with some admiration even despite its many caveats but then also says “or it could be his face doing all the work.”
Humour and delivery is great too. I rarely find manhwa funny whether it be because of poor translation or just written in poor tastes. I assume we are reading a fan translation? Even better than the official chapters.
And please the art is top tier in quality and consistency. Great line work and each panel feels like cinema. No weird incongruities that caused any immersion breaking!
On my way to support the author and artist in whatever way I can. I need a hard copy of this on my shelf.
Beautiful character and world building are created when the story doesn’t only orbit around the protagonists, but show how they interact with the world and supporting characters around them. This is really my perfect story HUGS
Tbh, I found everyone complaining about the previous chapters annoying//im not usually offended by poorly written stories or characters.BUT THIS CHAPTER
Good thing ML doesn’t randomly know French because all these manhwa authors just lovee to do that. Sprinkle random bilinguisme just to add charm or unicity to the character

The prose is very bittersweet. Read it out loud and pause between each stanza if you want to appreciate the writing a bit more!

This is so Maplestory with the most self-aware dialogue. As an MMORPG enthusiast it is so easy to relate and feel immersed in the story
