He's not doing that cause he doesn't like her ,he feels guilty and want to push her away cause he things he's gonna hurt her, something bad happened and he things that's his fault
beautifully written and very complex characters. You know the author ate when you feel many feelings for the characters. You dislike them but at the same time pity and understand them.
