This is just a common trope of miscommunication and blindness, where the MC doesn't recognize someone and they don't communicate and so that lasts like 10-20 or even 30 chapters depending on the author's nerve and audacity.

It's a very common way to add a lot of chapters to the story without making much progress in the storyline, it's a classic. It also reveals an empty plot usually. Most of the time after it's discovered the story ends within the next 3-4 chapters.

Well, the top literally came out and told Jichan that he was Mido and Jichan couldn't / wouldn't believe him. He (Jichan) said that the top's goal was to make him (Jichan) suffer. So, if he was Mido, then he would have succeeded. As the other person said, Jichan the (MC) refuses to believe that Mido could be or turn out to someone so cruel.

I read a lot of plot with misunderstanding caused by NOT communicating one's feelings. MC communicates his feelings well like how he's regretful of the past and all. Dumbness is the issue of this story lol. I think the author just want to serve us torture seggs. But I'll stick around for a few more chapters and see how this goes.

Yes, MC doesn't recognize the guy that loooks like a carbon copy of his lover and the author could've been a lazy author and made it about not accepting or whatever (even though there's not a SINGLE thought of denial in the story) instead, they made it about memory loss which MAKES SENSE 'cause when you lose memory you don't recall a carbo copy.
