The patriarchy also fucked her by not letting her be the heir to Angenas. Imagine how hard she would be curb stomping grandpa Lombardi as the head of her house lmao.

Ugh I'd love to see that honestly, the empress going toe to toe with grandpa as the head of her family. I don't mind a spinoff author!

House Angenas only gained power BECAUSE she became empress. They were nothing before that, and would remain nothing even if she was the one to lead them.

But again, it was her that led angenas to become the power they are today. And her being her, if given the oppurtunity to be the head, one way or another she'd still have made angenas a great force.

No it was her privilege, which you guys are mistaking for genius. If you erase the kings favor there is no viable alternative for House Angenas to overtake House Brown. Mind you, she couldn’t even overtake the orphan child who she had locked away, malnourished and uneducated, but you guys think she would be able to go head on with House Lombardi. The only person smart and capable enough to take down House Lombardi was the 2nd prince.

Yes it is a privilage and she used it well to raise her family to power and I think you forgot how fickle the emperor can be, to be able to maintain his favor for that long is a skill.
We're not saying she's a genius, but she uses what opportunity she has to the fullest to achieve her goals, no matter how immoral it might be. I may not agree with her actions but I think it is compelling
How can you be so sure that house angeneas would still be nothing if she was the head? She was the only one with a braincell in that family, maybe her father had a tiny one as well.
Also on the point we're she couldn't even kill an orphan child, well duh he's the ml he cannot die. It was heavily implied that the empress killed every possible child that the emperor would have in his adultery. EXCEPT FOR THE ML BECAUSE THE AUTHOR SAID SO
She was syphoning riches from the Lombardis through Vieze? Viese? at that point Lombardi was already hanging on by a thread because of the empress's schemes with the businesses, the excessive gambling and spending of the idiot cousins and the inadequacy of the head. Perez was just the last hit.
If grandpa is dumb enough to handover Lombardi to Viese, I personally think the empress can go toe to toe with him.

...You've forgotten that in Tia's first life the Empress DID screw the Lombardis. It's less about her intellegence and more of the sheer venom and ambition in her veins. She has that type of audacity, basically.
She also does not really have the king's favor imo. She just knows what to say to him and plays with his insecurities to get what she wants. Really we can't know for sure what she would aim for and act like as the head of her house, but I'd like to believe that she would flourish in a way. And who knows? She might not even have to give up on the Empress' influence either, she has a sister after all.
To continue speculating: the 2nd prince also isn't just a starved and uneducated boy, the guy's been clearly characterized as a calculated genius who used to be (and eventually intentionally pretended to be) harmless just so he can later kick the Empress in her proverbial, nonexistent nuts. I think he is the only true genius in this story.

The orphan child you're referring to is literally the male lead of the story, not just some random orphan. Judging her competence based on her inability to deal with someone who ultimately becomes one of the strongest characters isn't a valid argument. So using that as proof that she couldn't take on House Lombardi doesn't really hold up. That said, I don't deny that she benefited greatly from the privileges of being Empress and from supporting House Angenas. However, it was still her intelligence and political ability that allowed them to reach that position. She wasn't carried by privilege alone.
Why can't misogyny be useful for once? Why does the queen have to get a say?
