Sylhan has lived the past 3 years in secrets and basically in a limbo that he can’t control. In this moment, after basically retrieving his memories and learning/accepting the truth, he is in control. If you had a lover that you’ve been missing for around 3 years… wouldn’t you want to be clingy? Gjord couldn’t do much about Sylhan’s memories and it’s better to not trigger memories but to let it seep in.
