Also probably an unpopular opinion: if you cannot read BL without the mindset that there has to be smut. You are probably a fetishizer and one of the reasons that (especially the fujoshi) community takes so much heat from people.

you know what I sorta agree? Hm.. how do I say this.. So, if you read bl mainly for the smut then I feel like maybe you're sorta reading it with the wrong intention? But idk I don't really wanna judge people. I feel like its okay as long as you dont take what you read in bl smut and push it onto real mlm relationships. But i feel like its still okay to like smut. Like you know how people always say that you shouldn't read explicit bl that contains a lot of sex scenes because that's fetishization? Well.. i think it's okay for people to like smut as long as that's not like the only reason they read bl. Because I mean sex is kind of a big part in most romance stories so I think it's okay to like bls with a lot of smut too. I mean personally I like the ones with little or zero smut but I still read a lot of bl with heavy smut bcs the stories are really good.... that was kinda just a useless rant but my point was that as long as you aren't too extreme about it it's fine to like smut and isn't really fetishization.
