The only difference from this dj is that tomioka and sanemi were in a relationship together before their finals moments. I’m sure in the canon manga they grew close as friends and still felt the same pain here, just not as lovers.
It’s been years since I finished the manga and this brought back the pain I felt from reading the ending. The other one was NO better either AUGH. Demon slayer is actually so tragic and heart breaking.
