I wish the readers of this story would try to understand and empathize with Erna, instead of self inserting themselves into her, and wanting her to act cold and selfish —because that is what they would do— if they were Erna.
Erna is a child who was abandoned by her father and lost her mother at a very very young age. The writer has done a very good job so far of showing just how starved of love and acceptance Erna is. How broken she is to want and long for even the very crumbs Bjorn deigns to throw her way. She accepts the love she things she deserves.
If you actually try to understand where Erna is coming from, she's not just a dumb naive little girl. She's a broken, fragile women, who has only had fragments of acceptance and love all her life. She's so desperate for a place to belong to or to someone that she's been putting herself down and tolerating Bjorn's cruelty and selfishness.
Nevertheless, she has shown such incredible strength by trying to break away from the abuse that has been her entire relationship with him. But she's only human. And she loved Bjorn. She cared for him, she loved him so much she moulded herself into a version of the doll she thought he wanted. She's lost her baby... The one thing that was truly hers and would've loved her unconditionally.
So of course in moments of weakness she reminisces about Bjorn and mourns what could've been. She's a beautifully written tragic character imo. That doesn't make her weak.
Instead of calling her names, maybe try to understand where she's coming from. It'll make for a much more rounded reading experience of this story, I promise.
I tried this out once I read your comment, thank you. I actually dropped this so many times before. but now it only took me a whole sleepless night to finish it. The story is a breath of fresh air with a realistic approach. This doesn't feel anything like a fantasy, but a story representing most of us and our relationships. I hope more people will see this in a new light.

How r u people not liking this chapter like we got SO MUCH. Taeha showing his duality and hiding his craziness and his inner monologue of how desperate he is to belong to Hae-soo...
Hae-soo thinking about Tae-ha and showing an even deeper interest in him, wondering about his lifestyle and job and how still so much of him is such a mystery to her...
It's not just loneliness or just sex for her now. She's not doing everything just cuz she feels grateful or in debt to him. He's his own person to her now and she wants to know more and
THAT is what deepens a relationship. That interest in another person as THEY are and not just what they mean to you, is the foundation of a relationship turning from just an affair to something much deeper.
That's all Taeha has been wanting from Haesoo if you look back. This is what is going to push them in a direction where they're gonna start working as a team. More than anything chapters like this are important because otherwise when any drastic change happens, like Haesoo choosing Taeha over MC or something else... It won't feel like it came out of nowhere.
