Try "Silver Diamond" and "Koori No Mamono No Monogatari". Don't know if is this you are looking for, but both story revolve around two guys, they don't directly say to each other "i like/love you" or kiss, but you can see they do. The art is amazing and so is the story. They are both fantasy/drama, make you cry at some points, but its totally worth it^^

Try this one too "Hana wa Saku ka"

Unfortunately, i feel almost every yaoi out there is composed of 80% sex and some character development on the side.
It makes me really sad that yaoi is considered porn so much, that mangakas can't lay off the erotic stuff and just concentrate on developing the plot┗( T﹏T )┛. Shounen ai is too innocent and gives satisfies that craving for smut :'(

What you might consider doing is simultaneously search both yaoi and shounen ai genres. On of my first ever yaois is a good example of this

Another idea is expanding your BL experience to novels and fanfiction, with a colorful imagination, and a head full of yaoi, the smutty parts can be quite . . . "nice" ;)
