[Spoilers below] Personally I don't like beta x omega romances that much. I feel like the whole point of omegaverse stories is to show alphas with omegas. Occasionally certain stories can break this mold and do well, but not this one. There were aspects that I liked. I liked the backstory of the guys growing up, and thought it was an interesting turn to see the beta become obsessive and emotionally abusive. But the authors kind of blew past really dealing with the abuse by having the omega be completely forgiving and blame himself, and then the beta could feel a bit bad and move past it. I really would've preferred seeing the omega come to the realization that this wasn't how he should've been treated and then turn to the alpha.
I agree, I typically prefer Alpha-omega stories, and I think it’s good for writers to try to break that mold, but I think Jihan’s abusive nature is what made it bad. Especially with the scene where he rapes Jaeun it was cemented in my brain that this was bad. If he had been super protective (idk, tracking him, looking through his phone) I think it’s something he would’ve been able to come back from, but not rape. Siwan deserved better :(
