I’m more confused on how you guys saw a GREY character and assumed it was a horribly failed attempt at drawing a tanned/ dark skinned person? When I saw him I thought it was just a character choice to draw him as grey (may it be due to his sickness or smth else), but can I know how you assumed he’s supposed to be black?

Also his ‘brother’ is white asf so I do doubt he’s meant to be dark skinned

I never said it was due to being marked? I just said that I didn’t understand how you saw a literal grey character and assumed he was brown skinned, maybe it’s because I’ve never seen artists fail this horribly that I find it hard to believe but I just didn’t know how so many people came to the conclusion that he was just a darker skinned character

he's supposed to be black ?? they usually draw such good lucking tanned characters, heck they doin to black ones , thought he was that way cause he was sick ( rejection syndrom or whatever that dr was talking about)

So many cases like this happen... black characters somehow end up hella ashy, even if they're part of the main cast.

Whether it’s in anime or in manga/wha/hua, most of these artists just can’t do black characters any justice. Whenever I c tanned characters with straight hair, I claim them as brown bcs at least then how they’re drawn makes more sense lmao

The fact that they can give brown ppl, Indian characters proper skintone but never black ppl is so baffling to me.
Like they come in many shades, BUT NEVER GREY so why tf they always end up ashy

at first i assumed they wanted to give him a cool toned skin bcs he's ill and all but he genuinely is just gray. unless we see more darkskinned characters in the manhwa with proper skintones, bcs then him being gray was entirely a (kinda odd) stylistic choice. but if we dont see any then yeah... yikes

I don't know what ethnicity he is supposed to be but I do think he is grey because of the health issue. He's eating bugs and scratching himself and has dark circles around his eyes bro is clearly unwell. Doc clearly said he was gonna die if he didn't have medical attention soon

These are all symptoms of the problem not necessarily things turning his grey. Idk dude im just saying based on context its more plausible to assume the reason he is grey is due to the health issues than designating the author as problematic by assuming they depict pwople of color as grey. I just don't think we have enough information yet but to each their own i guess believe what you want

Show me the panel where they talked abt being grey is a medical issue. They mostly explain the psychological issues like:
"Experience withdrawal symptoms or severe emotional instability"

"The physical scars can be concealed to some extent w cosmetic surgery"

they didn't though? they said he has 'emotional instability' and yes he is affected physically as well (though they never specified what exactly) but they never stated anything about it affecting his skintone. and even if he was meant to look 'pale' because of his illness it was poorly done because it shoudnt look THAT grey. we can acknowledge that it may have something to do with his illness and still understand that it was poorly done regardless because its so common in asian media for people to portray darkskinned characters as grey.
