Jin gets locked up by blondie #1, Tehir, for being part of a drug distributing gang. He learns that he was part of a group of children who were put through a bunch of deadly trials. They're called Darwins (survival of the fittest and all that). Jin meets the other Darwins (Garon - breeder guy, Kimoto - brown hair, red hair and blonde braids - the two guys who had to have sex to escape that one place). Jin wants to leave and get back to his captain, Charin (blondie who looks like Tehir and has an eyepatch). Kimoto hates Jin and wants him gone so he helps Jin escape. There's a relationship chart somewhere on twitter that shows Kimoyo likes Tehir and Tehir likes Jin so that's why Kimoto hates Jin.
Then we get backstory for Jin and Charin. Jin fell from the sky into the slums. Charin "adopted" him into their gang when Jin killed the weird clown guy who wanted to sell Charin. Charin has a huge inferiority complex so Jin dumbs himself down so that Charin will be nice to him. Jin likes Charin. Charin also likes Jin but his insecurities make him act like he doesn't care. He's actually afraid that Jin will leave him once he realizes that Charin is not the strong, amazing person Jin thinks he is.
One day, they're approached by green guy with a proposal. He wants their gang to distribute his drug, Pentatonic, in exchange for money, power, and Charin's eye. Pentatonic is highly addictive and once someone is fully addicted, it uses their body to summon a demon. Jin doesn't like green guy and doesn't want them to take the deal. Charin thinks this deal will make him as powerful and special as the people in the city so he accepts. Green guy takes his eye for his "gf" and gets the gang addicted to Pentatonic.
After that, the gang starts selling Pentatonic. They gain a lot of notoriety for it and things start falling apart. Members are succumbing to the drug, going crazy, and turning into demons. Someone is ratting them out to the authorities. I believe Charin suggests that he's the rat. He decides he wants to stop everything and run away with Jin. He asks Jin to go to the west and deal with the rest of the drugs. This is when Jin is captured by Tehir.
From what I understand, green hair was the one who snitched to get Jin and the other members caught in the west. He wanted to push Charin to his lowest by taking away everything he has. He rapes Charin and keeps him confined in his home. Green hair ends up falling for Charin because of his unbothered attitude. Charin gets pregnant. Turns out he has a womb. For some reason, all women are extinct in this world. Charin is probably the closest thing they have to a human woman.
Jin makes it back home and is now on the search for Charin.
