The new season could’ve been about marital problems or just purely more inside look in their everyday relationship (slice of life). ML is a green flag, there is no gRape or sexual abuse(some people may disagree and I will tell you why and you can form your own opinion)
ML is a special kind of dominant alpha called Ghost. He can change a Beta to an Omega but not the same process as other BL contents. MC is a Beta currently but he has dormant Omega traits that that require a Ghost Alpha to turn him into an official or permanent Omega. When ML had sex and knotted in MC for the first time, the changes began hence why ML eye colours turn white. ML is aware of this but MC doesn’t know ML is slowly changing him into an Omega. This is where some readers consider ML a red flag and called the situation gRape/sexual abuse because MC did not give his consent in the beginning and he’s unaware that ML is slowly changing him into an omega. If you read the novel, ML isn’t completely selfish about this, he wants to stop but he can’t because he love MC too much and don’t want to leave him. He’s also scared that if MC finds out, he will leave him. As for miscommunication, there isn’t much, except for the ML not telling MC he’s slowly changing him. Also when they separated, they didn’t confirmed that they broke up. I guess that can be considered a miscommunication. They were still in love with each other and didn’t date anyone else. They reunited after with their love still intact. MC is not a weakling and definitely not a pushover. One example is when ML thought his face and charms were going to make MC paint again but MC didn’t give in until ML used his last trump card which was making MC meet his idol, who was also ML’s mom in China. Read the novel, it explains things better.
