Maybe it’s bc I’m in the habit of reading the chapter before every time a new chapter drops, but tbh I did not think he was being that dramatic.
Like king is psychologically unwell, thinks the guy he likes is about to ghost him, found out some crazy lady was stalking him and kinda drugging him (are pheromones considered drugs) and then that crazy lady literally shot a guy in front of him and then the guy he likes shows up to (presumably) dump him. This isn’t even considering that in the last week he was fully kidnapped. I would pick up the gun after all that too.

I really sympathize with the dad but it was still wrong of him to rob the mom of her agency and choice in the situation. She died without knowing the truth :(

Their main problem is that due to their childhood trauma they just quite literally did not communicate and tbh that was equally on both of them but also on neither of them because genuinely how were they supposed to know better
Like yes they were coddled, but they didn’t really do anything wrong when they weren’t being manipulated or taking advantage of Lucie. However, the latter was extremely normalized for the prince by literally everyone around him. How was he supposed to know better? When things did blow up in their faces they immediately decided they weren’t suited for their positions on their own too
