This story has potential but it feels like we’re always getting cut off in the middle of important moments. So much is happening but also nothing at the same time.
Kiss me liar as honestly better paced. Completed in 41 chapters with 3 story arcs. The story was a bit simpler granted- but I do think that story gets a lot of flack for no reason by the fandom. (I really think it’s because the uke was a twink but he got his lick back and then some!)
People seem to be confused as to what the whole purpose of the abuse is- it’s revenge. The story is set up for us to believe jiwook is the victim and being targeted for just a bad a temper. In the end, you see he’s reaping what he sows.
The Ukes revenge. He becomes the monster.
The amount of sexual torture is crazy in this story- however, there is so many warnings about it. It’s not a story for everyone. But it’s not supposed to be.
Idk how that confusing considering the amount of spoilers. People keep calling this kink/fetish/pure porn when it’s really not that. The genre is mystery/thriller- we the audience knows as much as jiwook knows. So naturally the tone is ominous and that too adds to the unsettling vibes even when there’s no violence.
The author could’ve ended it at Kihoon saying yes and leave us anticipating the worse. She actually took us out our misery by having them meet up and Kihoon falling for Yeon. We get puppy chase arc next. That’s something to look forward to? Like we’re actually still in the cute phase.
Especially when this entire season was hinting that they had to give up something to course correct the threads of destiny. Y’all also know the evil uncle is going to comeback again right? Likeeee …
I’m just shocked to see people upset. I thought we’d be excited???
People don’t understand the art of storytelling. It’s given they’re going to end up happy. Chill- they still got to go through the plot. I’m confused as to how y’all didn’t see this coming? Theres clearly going to be more conflict in the present timeline.
Y’all want instant gratification asap. It’s mind boggling, either they’re fucking too much, or the plot is too confusing, or you’re upset that they haven’t skipped to happily ever after.
I'm actually not shocked, I expected it hut that doesn't mean I am heartbroken
I really LOVE the storytelling and I am excited jow this new story will unfold because atleast this time they can developed their feeling even deeper and this time without being forced to do things that the quest wants and without the fear of tragedy.
i think it's reasonable for people to be mad when, in this 1 chapter, we saw the transition from flashback to current setting, kihoon losing his memory, 3+ year time skip, and their subsequent reunion. All in 1 chapter!!
This pacing is actually terrible. We spent months in the tragic flashback only to get a completely different setting in 1 day.
This is anticipation bias. Reread your last sentence- clearly plot is moving along.
If you reread season 2- you’ll realize the flashback isn’t really all that drawn out. Honestly most of the story isn’t drawn out- from confession, to admission of anxiety, to acceptance, to flashback, to explaining the lore, then sexy time, to consequence, not now- resolution of quest and next frontier.
Maybe I’m just a veteran and I’ve actually read drawn out/confusing plots to realize when it’s the story or when it’s my nerves.
This I don’t get either- Kihoon clearly is still head over heels for Yeon at first sight and that happened this chapter. The author could’ve ended it at Kihoon saying yes and leave us anticipating the worse. She actually took us out our misery. We get puppy chase arc next. That’s something to look forward to? Like we’re actually still in the cute phase.
Especially when this entire season was hinting that they had to give up something to course correct the threads of destiny. Y’all also know the evil uncle is going to comeback again right? Likeeee …
The parallels of their past life is the same as their modern life- Kihoon does things to push away and hide from Yeon. Whenever Yeon tries to get him to commit or open up- he fails. However, he’s pushing away Yeon with his words and still taking his dick…
EXACTLY HOW WE FOUND THEM IN CHAPTER 1
The pattern is the same, the communication is the same, and cycle is the same.
THAT IS PLOT!!! This is why media crisis is upon us.
This is such a weird ass cope. Setting the scene up isn’t dragging it out! This convo is just above your head.
We know they die- it’s hinted at a bunch! Nothing here is a mystery. It’s clear as day season 2 ending is going to be when we get back to present so steal in for the ride. We’re getting introduced to them as a couple. How they operate, their flaws and sincerity.
Just because you’re impatient and can’t understand story telling… doesn’t mean it’s unnecessary.
My point remains the same. So many chapters of show them just fucking dumb and then Kihoon running away for the 500th time it's not working to "set the scene" here. You don't have to talk about it as something profound, not working either. Their modern-day versions had sex because the red thread dictated it, and that's what moved the plot forward at least lol.

Kihoon really is the GOAT.
