Irl, from an outsider's pov, they really look like a couple that would never break up and would eventually get married. But since we know the reason for their breakup, it makes more sense. Rather than staying and hurting each other, Yeodan chose to break up to save them both, and I think that’s really a mature decision that’s rare in some couples irl
In dani's case, she obviously like yeodan (but not the same way he likes her) that even he knew she’d blindly comply if he asked her to keep distance from a certain friend. She may not be honest and vocal about her feelings, but it’s enough that the people around her know what kind of person she is.
