this is like the only manga i’ve ever read that makes me uncomfy but for some reason i rlly need to know what’s gonna happen i also like the drawing but um it’s a bit weird. i think i saw an anime like this where the mom was always hooking up with dudes and stuff but the difference is that the son actually left when she did it and they didn’t rlly have a weird ass relationship like that..

yes! it’s uncomfortable but not in a bad way. it is actually doing a good job at tackling queerness and sexualities (ex. that “i don’t care whether you’re a guy or a girl” vs. “i like you because you are a guy”), non-violent child abuse, and how a parent’s words can affect a child in the long run (i.e. “don’t be like him”). it’s also nice to see a guy reject another guy not because he thinks gay ppl are gross but because he’s just not attracted to guys—thank god there’s no bullying either. im not good at explaining stuff but i hope i got my point across lol. lastly, i hope the freaking adults in this manga stop hitting on minors jesus christ.
yeah i totally agree with you the part that definitely made me uncomfy in a bad way was when the moms first boyfriend was touching on him as a child and also maybe the m@sturbation as a child that was a little weird..
i totally agree. idk if you’re from Asia but it’s actually very common for men/boys to “tease” other guys by sexually harassing them. idk why this is a culture in my country and idk if it’s the same as other Asian countries but it’s definitely very weird. also, yeah, the masturbation. i mean, it’s normal for adolescents to feel lust but i think it’s better if the author didn’t draw those scenes and just kind of narrated it especially since he was a literal child. it was uncomfortable to see lol.
definitely a lot of places in asia are like that and i’m not from asia so i dont know exactly why they do that but it is a little on the wierd side and yeah when i saw those scenes with them as kids i couldn’t help but think it was child pornography i was watching/reading and it didn’t sit right:/
I believe we thought of the same anime. Is it 'Hitorijime My Hero' you're pertaining to? In that anime/manga Masahiro's mom is also a sex worker like Tamaki's mother. His mother even brings home her clients in the apartment complex they're living in. And his friend Kensuke seems like an asexual who happens to have a childhood friend, Hasekura, who's in love with him like Shii is with Tamaki. 'Usagi no Mori' is much grimmer than 'Hitorijime My Hero', though. Masahiro got associated with delinquents but he isn't necessarily a delinquent, he just did little errands like buying them food and cigarettes. It's quite surprising how Tamaki and Masahiro ended up being good sons and not yankees.
