look i enjoyed it but the gods of dragons or whatever just forgiving akelans for breaking the taboo as long as they bear a child? am i the only one who feels like that's kind of light? why even bother calling it a taboo then. i would understand 1 child for each life at least. y'all see what i'm talking about? because he did it four times for only 1 child lol.
.
also i feel like he doesnt have punishment because what he went through were just consequences of his immaturity. like i'm looking at this and i'm wondering what the difference is between the yellow and black dragon? the black dragon only had plot armor and he lived a loong past life for goodness sake. he's like the yellow dragon but the yellow dragon died. idk, they each have their own personalities hence their own immaturity so that's what i'm getting at

In my country, usually only 3 types of schools are like this — the rich ones, the competitive ones and the delinquent ones. Average regular schools aren't like this.

yeah, idk where the disconnect is coming from i thought the west had a general picture of what academics in general is like for asians. esp if the setting is south korea, the social politics are even more relevant bc of how prevalent the bullying is. and highschool is like, what, 6 years of your life (including middle school). and we're literally at our formative years psychologically in highschool. like i just dont know whats clicking. some of the stuff that happens in highschool still even haunts a lot of people, and i know that doesnt only apply to asians.

I live in Germany and was bullied in elementary school because I wore boys' clothes, acted more like a boy, and was friends with boys (I only had two female friends because women are exhausting and gossip too much) and wore clothes belonging to a female friend. I was often called a tomboy. It continued into *Hauptschule* (secondary school) from 5th to 9th grade, but I fought back with my fists. Later, I played women's soccer, and the boys' team would train right before us. In winter, we had to move into the gym, and as always, I waited outside until the boys were finished. One boy who often bullied me at school poured a bag of warm water over my head and claimed it was piss. It definitely wasn't. The next day, the whole school gathered around me shouting "Piss-person"; this went on for nearly a month. By then, it didn't bother me anymore, but he was furious. I could tell you a lot more, but it would take too long. Ultimately, I often cut myself, drank alcohol, smoked weed, or went to a decommissioned train repair depot and smashed windows until my hands were bloody. As "thanks," my mother would hit the wound, saying I had "no reason" to do such things. But the fact that she partied every weekend—and I had to play mom to my sister then and during the week, too—didn't matter to her; she’d say, "I took care of you all these years, now it's my turn"—she said that every time. Oh well.

That’s rough. I had some similar experiences actually like I went thru a tomboy phase as a kid, and I had almost only all male friends and even to this day I only have one genuinely close female friend and the rest of my friends are men but we’re older now so we don’t see eachother as often. But as a kid and teen, I was picked on when I stopped the tomboy phase and then went thru a punk/goth phase and even when I switched schools due to rumors after my teacher called me out infront of the class for not having the homework done after I took time off to spend time in a psych ward for cutting and suicidal thoughts) and she got in trouble ofc because that’s private and that could’ve led to even more serious consequences for a depressed student. All these rumors started so I moved schools but the rumors follows me because it wasn’t far and sadly I started off on a good note at this school until that and the most popular kid in 8th grade liked me and he kept asking me to hang out and the most popular girl kept trying to put me in my place but I just ignored her. But then she and her friends started spreading the rumors from my old school which got all twisted ofc plus they made up a bunch of weird stuff to make me unappealing to the guys like I smoked crack and I carried used tampons in my purse…wtf? lol anyways, I stopped going once we heard they had a homeschooling program but the school claimed this (probably to get more funds) but the homeschooling program wasn’t actually set up yet so I was home for literally months from winter to April without going to school so I started smoking weed with my older brother and his friends and then I did it with my friends and alone just to pass time and cope with things. Eventually the school got 2 of the teachers to come two days a week and I didn’t get much homework and it only lasted like 6-8 sessions total and I was done and they passed me. I missed way more school than I attended in 8th grade between both schools but my first school was guilty for a teacher sharing my private info n sorta bullying me infront of the class so they didn’t say anything and the second school was at fault for claiming their homeschool program was up & running when it obviously was not so to make things easier on everyone, they passed me. I was so relieved lol in high school, I was in a class for emotionally disturbed kids. It only had about 10 students from each of the 4 grades but I was a shoo-in for that class.

the author knows how to build up the angst well and know to make the count suffer for a while because he had cloden beat up, so surely they know the end isnt enough right?
