A single taboukan? Or a series? Because some of those manga can get into hundreds of volumes.
You could also voluntarily limit an extended series by analyzing a single arc. Say, for example, you took a children's series like Yakitate, Japan! ( http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/yakitate_japan/) If you used the initial arc where the protagonist proves himself and is allowed to manage his own bakery, the first ten volumes should suffice.
Samurai Champloo ( http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/samurai_champloo/) is a relatively short series as well, with an interesting historical theme reinterpreted through modern sensibilities.
Otherwise, with popular series like Full-Metal Alchemist, D. Grayman, Bleach, XXX-Holic, Death Note, Soul Eater, Magi ... you can choose a single arc.
Anyway, those are some ideas.
