It would be too obvious if that was actually foreshadowing their relationship tho. As the previous comment mentions, I think it’s just a reflection of the mc’s mindset on their relationship as of this moment. Hopefully.
Hmm I feel like we could’ve seen more from the mc, they hyped her up so much, I was hoping that she’d actually go to the academy the next year, I mean we got a whole build up in the first few chapters but we barely got to see her use her brains for something she genuinely enjoyed doing w/o being forced to.
I was looking forward to her opening up an apothecary, being a governess, to enjoy her smarts elsewhere but she got made into a housewife with little to no freedom or movement towards the end.
In fact, everyone basically got married, and that was the end of it. I would’ve liked to have seen more about the princes backstory too, they were actually interesting characters.
All in all, the story writing wasn’t horrible, not bad but it wasn’t great. It was anti climatic, and unsatisfactory.
However, I can say that I didn’t hate it. I love the unique sense of humour, the comments made by the mc actually portrayed a clever young woman, who was defined by her past. The way she swears, the way she deals with the people around her is refreshing, she not one dimensional and I love that she has these conflicting thoughts, that she’s able to separate facts from feelings
I think I just wished that we saw more of her talents outside of the succession of the throne. That we got to see her be truly happy without constraint. Have the characters be a little more fleshed out. But for a short story I enjoyed it. I didn’t think that I’d be reading it all in one day, I didn’t even release I was nearing the end of it

I got slapped twice in this chapter icl. I was about his reply to the ml, but the bs he’s dealing with outside of that is madness.
Also why do people think it’s ideal to hide information from others? Especially when it concerns them? His friends did not need to do that, they’re treating him like some fragile little kid, who has no capacity to think straight and make sound decisions. LOOK AT HIM NOW. Completely in shock, unprepared and scared, looking like a deer in headlights. Did they think they could hide it forever?? He has to go his lectures and whatnot anyway, he was gonna hear about it anyway, lord.
I love when they get drunk in pheromones but why are we just skipping past issues?
