Maybe that's an unpopular opinion, but I kind of aggressively approve Akane calling out Aoi's bs?
T h i s is what love looks like, not just brainless adoration. When you love someone you don't fail to see what's wrong in the other person. On the contrary, you're more aware than anybody else, and you're accepting it and try to help if asked for it.
Right now I think Akane's trying to do that, make Aoi understand he's there, she just had to say the word. Plus, he's not forcing himself over, he's not coercing her into anything she doesn't agree with (she's the one relaxing and closing her eyes first, he's keeping his guard up to detect any kind of stopping signal and back off).

Like, girl, I totally get you, don't get me wrong, you've got trust issues, or this is simply your personality, but being an avoidant type doesn't justify you being salty.
Being one myself, I understand this on a molecular level. Been there, done that. Still doing it sometimes, but I know this is not the correct way to interact.
You shouldn't argue about other people not wanting to connect when you're the first one running away from it because you're afraid of being hurt or betrayed.
Life can throw some serious shit your way, and it's gonna do it as long as you live, it's up to you to react, collect whatever positive you can from every experience, and move on.

I mean, since the very beginning I think there's a mothertrucking ton of stuff that you seem to know, but you systematically refuse to speak of, which would have helped A LOT.
Not that you have to do it by yourself, because asking for help is crucial if you realize you need it. This is what Akane is also trying to tell you; he's there, he's always been there. He understands that's how you are and that you need to see it, but on your terms, at the proper time. He's giving you time to realize it on your own.
Time puns totally not intended, I just realized XD.

Also, I laughed so much when Teru crashed the place, I just love him and Akane's bantering. That doesn't mean I think Minamoto's stupid or oblivious. It's pretty clear he's up to something, but I am giving the benefit of the doubt, see what he's gonna do.
Personally, I think that right now him showing up might feel like a deus ex machina (a.k.a. plot hax mode), but we can really use all the help we can get right now.

Haiyan, you stupid adorable puppet, you have to thank all the stars in the sky for your quick reflexes, 'cause our boi Wolfgang was not gonna let it slide.
I mean, look through the king's perspective: you crash the party, get attacked, got hurt, run into a burning building. All the noise, the hit to the head (which broke some of his ocular capillaries...THANK YOU FOR THE REALISM!), then you arrive and see the Love Of Your Life beaten up, bleeding and being restrained. Sure enough, Haiyan is only grabbing him by the wrist, but...can we really blame Wolf? It was all decontextualized.
Maybe Golden Boy went for the snake and not his head, but I would not have complained if he did some serious damage. You've been (sort of) caught up in all of this, Haiyan, but surely you knew you were risking your spine's integrity, so if it would have come your way, welp...

I mean, we know you've grown a lot (a huge lot) in this time skip, Your Highness, but...seriously, Wolfgang? Yes, I would. 'Cause you're a flippin' dork. An adorkable buffoon so pigheaded whenever Shin's involved, and we all love you for that. So yeah, I would've fallen for the trick (like Shin did, btw). Sure enough, I was hoping he did something else, because like I said before, he's better than that now, so much better. At the same time, I was shocked as Shin: you really used Big Brain Strategy, you blockhead, and I'm so proud of you.

My heart was aching so much seeing Shin so distraught, in pain and confused.
Let's just think about this for a minute: he's being kidnapped, tortured almost to death. In case somebody missed that, he doesn't have A SINGLE NAIL in both his hands and feet, other than various deep and extended wounds all over his body, so him passively crying could also be partially because of the unintentional pain from being yanked and manhandled by Wolfgang. Granted, he's not doing it on purpose for sure, but still, adding all of this to the traitor identity's revelation, the VERY near-death experience (and he was gonna die knowing he wouldn’t be able to see Wolfgang one last time. Try picture that: how fucking sad and horrible is it?)...nobody can get out of that and don't have repercussions. We knew what he went through before, it was that which gave him the capacity and fortitude to resist, but still...
He's so out of it for those seconds in which he touches Wolfgang's cheek (lightly, because his hands are still heavily injured), it's gutwrenching how much he needed to have a physical interaction and TOUCH him, something so powerful that overrode THAT amount of suffering. His look, the tears. His eyes are pretty much conveying the only message his mind could formulate in that moment: You are really here, you came to me.
Goddamn. Wolfgang, that makes the two of us internally raging.

But now, Golden Boy is better than that. Now he's the King, now he knows he can't go for the obliteration. He needs proof, he needs motives. And for that, he needs Shin back; he gives him something for his head to reconnect to, asking about the crimes. Providing focus, pulling him back into reality.

Oh, about the "possession" argument...Haiyan, is that a Burn I detect there? Are you mad because you've never even been a player in the first place? Come on man, you should have known better...
We know that's the other way around; Wolfgang is so whipped (in the good way), enamored and devoted it’s not even funny anymore. He put a tracking spell on the glasses because he knows Shin's the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he's not a fighter.
Also, he somehow managed to rein in his feelings and think about the country first, then go for the save when the patching was done. In the fastest way possible, but like, man, wouldn't you do that for the person you LOVE?
He's the King, but he's allowed to have fellings, goddamit. Yes, kingdom first, but he's still a human being.
Nobody would convince me otherwise; if you really love someone, there's no way that, if you're in Wolfgang position, you would have done something differently. A lot of people would have ditched the kingdom's necessities.

Wolfgang is the King we need, but don't deserve.
