As someone whose fav book is Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, I am in LOVE with this characterization of Victor! Like yes, he is in fact a lame loser who was potentially gay and would 100% make a monster(or three) versions of his lover! I also really love that the author kept both his inferiority and god complex in their reimagining of Victor. Those are such important characteristics of Victor that unfortunately most media that do decide to portray victor(and not just his monster) leave out. Like he has no respect for life nor death and thinks he is above the laws of nature and is still a little bitch boy and I so so love that the author made him not only a little bitch boy but also a twink lol. I do think this story falls under the sliiiiight pedophilic portrayals of bottom in gay relationships but I think it works with Victor’s character to really show that despite his feats in cheating death, he is still just a little man. I also like that the author took creative liberties when it comes to Henry cuz in the original book he’s just kinda there and I’m a fan of how the author decided to portray him in this story. I also feel that interpreting either Victor or Henry as “sluts” in this story is to completely miss the point in how the author has decided to write them. Both of them are lonely men who have an inferiority complex but decide to deal with it differently, Victor by obsessing over Henry and Henry by filling himself with others admirations. The fact that both of them also have dead parents plays into the inferiority and isolation they both deal with and for Victor, that’s heightened with Henry’s death and instead of dealing with it like a normal person(something he was never taught how to) he instead does what he knows best, which is create.

And then they introduced the tentacles…already that was a little much for me because that in itself is assault. Hershe was getting sexually assaulted by the demon king and that grossed me out so much I had to scroll past, but I turned a blind eye and now this FUCKING ENDING???? Like what the ever loving fuck was that??? Firstly, the poor princess that had to wait for a knight that would never come to save her and died thinking of her first love like that is so disturbing and so sad but the worst thing is that Hershe was over there actively getting rapped by the demon king till essentially forever??? Not only is that messed up but it’s genuinely disgusting. I had soooo much hope for this comic and was thinking it was gonna be a cutesy story with a bit of angst but just straight up eternal rape??? Wtf??? Not to mention also that the two of them never did anything more than kiss in the real world. The princess waited till her death for her knight and the knight though she was with the princess(or at least hoped she was) only for it to not be and that’s just so fucking sad. I’ve been bed rotting the whole day and picked this up today and it was honestly such a great read but no fucking way that was the end! What do you mean they don’t get married??? I feel like I’ve been baited the whole way into reading this thinking they’ll have an amazing love story in the end where they get married and shit just for it to end with them KISSING?! Bro we’re bouta get real analytical in here…so I only read chap 1 and honestly great set up for a sci fi book. Reminds me of Octavia Butler’s Dawn and bloodchild where humans are at the bottom of the “food chain” and aren’t seen as anything other than expandable or breedable. The concept itself is interesting because it’s in a planet with countless other species but humans/humanness is deemed as undesirable. But then again that begs the question of WHY would all these “monsters/aliens/creatures” be in a human form. So the wolf guy at the end of chap 1 says “it’s been a while since I’ve been in this form” referring to his wolf form but that makes you wonder why would he and everyone else around be in a human form? We’ve already established that “humanness” is undesirable and yet they chose to be in a human form? Then that gets you to ask WHY is humanness undesirable? And then you look at the fact that all these guys are abducted, brainwashed, and forced to be breed/used for sexual purposes and I haven’t read anything past chap 1 but are they having babies with the humans? Are humans the only ones capable of carrying children? There was a part where the mc said “if you get punished then they pump you up with eggs” is this similar to Butler’s Bloodchild where humans where the only creatures capable of carrying the aliens offspring so then they were essentially forced to do so or do they just like humans cuz they’re easier to fuck? And then you look at the fact that all of the abducted humans(seen in chap 1) are all male and looking at all that in a feminist sci fi lens you begin to not only ask what IS human but also what is man and woman…
