Like I’d be pissed too tf can you imagine applying for a scholarship and then finding out the recipient was pre selected by his situationship so there was never any point in applying or even posting a scholarship offering in the first place bc it was already going to go to someone else anyway like wtf I don’t play when it comes to my academics!!!! Granted this is not yeonmin’s fault in the slightest, but if I was in the classmate’s shoes I’d be rightfully pissed bc the assumption and logic points to nepotism and We The People (classmates) have no idea how much he’s suffered so what else are we to think!!! (Sorry I’m passionate about academic equality guys)
Honestly I get what you’re saying and I get where you’re coming from, and it could be because I know how he used to live but I feel that because he genuinely studies and is the top of the class I wouldn’t second guess it like his grades match why he deserves it

Agree, he doesn't know what's going on, or that yeomin is in fact not financially well off, he's just got a sugar daddy (which in yeomin's mind is a temporary situation so he's still prepping to go back to his old lifestyle, hence he needs the money). So like yea, I'd also be pissed off that some rich kid with connections got the scholarship, and I would absolutely try to mess shit up. Even if he is top of the class and works hard, scholarships aren't for people with money, and yeomin currently looks like he's well off
Lol I get what you’re saying, but like I said in my comment, none of his classmates know any of this. At most, they know some shady ppl came to look for him via rumor. We the readers know he deserves this for all he’s been through, but that’s it
And I agree! He 100% deserves to have some financial/academic comfort for all he’s been through, but others won’t see it that way just from how he’s intentionally and unintentionally portrayed himself to his classmates

The guy in question is a classmate is he not? At the LEAST, everyone knows hes the guy some gangsters were looking for, especially since he doesn't show up at any functions(didn't), plus he was also malnourished for a period of time, so on the almost impossible chance you're tapped out of the gossip, you can clearly see he's not privileged at all.
Yeah but after that he showing up with expensive things. Getting pick up by some wealthy looking men with expensive car. Then you learn the person that picking him up is the person that related to the foundation that giving out scholarship. If you think about it...
