I respect everyone’s opinion!! But I disagree I actually don’t think the drama is forced I think it makes sense the way he is because he looked after Adele when they were kids and as someone mentioned in their comment he was lied to by supposed friends that Adele was dead and believed that lie for so many years until the truth was revealed by Adele herself upon their reunion
So, with that logic, it makes sense for Jean to be mistrustful for those reasons and also the fact that he knows so much about Quarn and his connection to the emperor makes him even more worried for Adele
I think it all really comes down to Jean’s guilt for not being able to protect or save Adele when they were kids and he kind of wants to make up for that?
Also, I’m conflicted cuz I can kind of see this as a live triangle but I also don’t see it as one because I feel like there isn’t potential for it now (maybe later on in the story, I don’t know) but with that being said, maybe the author didn’t mean for this to come off as a Love triangle? They just wanted to add some drama lol and maybe this will contribute to some events further?
Like Jean’s admission that Quarn smells like death was interesting I’m curious to see what happens next
THIS WAS SO LONG IM SORRY LMAO

Idk why lol but when I see him I think “would this be Childe but like the discount version? Like the really cheap version?” Forgive me if that’s insulting lmao I’m so sorry
