2nd, the brother switched places multiple times and this point we have no idea who the ML is. In fact the twin may actaully be alive and he and his brother are switching places even now and the truth is in that secret room.
My idea comes from how the ML's life with the monks is off. He wanted death he hated lving and yet he suddenly changes. He left his Diary and yet he was going to go back with the FL until something came up and he couldn't go. If he had something to hide why did he act like she wouldn't learn anything. That the one monk wouldn't return the diary?
So basically either the brother are ticking everyone, or the writer is using the ML as a red herring and were all not about to see what is going to happen.
