people are allowed to criticize bad writing, even if it’s fiction. “shitty opinion” if their opinion is shitty to you, i think you need to read more.

Not liking something is fine. Wishing I'll (even death) on an author just cuz you don't like the story, isn't.

well then i'm obviously not talking about that, aren't i? and so far, i haven't even seen a death threat on the author here only shitting on the writing of the character and story itself. duh.

OR or consider this, you can REread the original commenter’s message, in which i replied to (you can REREAD that as well), and see that we weren’t talking about the threats on the author. they were talking about the people saying that they won’t read fargo’s stories anymore because they think the writing is bad. you brought on a topic that isn’t involved in the first place

If you talk about people's opinions not being "shitty" in a general and all encompassing way. Then be prepared to have said "non-shitty" opinions (according to you) thrown back at you and used as an example as to why CLEARLY, as I stated, there's a difference between a criticism, shitty opinions, and things that should never be said.

You don't know what opinions OP was directly referencing to, the same way I'd like to assume that you're message about their "opinions not being shitty" did not include the people telling the author to off themselves. Then again, you seem to have a fixation on telling people to go read more, so maybe go an do that before you keep confusing constructive criticism with people talking out of their ass.

is reading comprehension not your strong suit? even if someone were to read between the lines on the original comment, none of it was referring to the threats on the author's life. do you want me to point it all out?

criticism of writing, no matter how harsh, is not the same as crossing the line into something that's never okay—like sending death threats. but you seem to have missed that distinction. if you're really concerned about threats, here's an idea: maybe DIRECT that energy towards the people ACTUALLY doing that instead of pretending like pointing out bad writing is the same thing.

and that was the point of my comment unless you still don't understand, people are "throwing out shitty opinions" because they don't like how a story’s unfolding. we're talking about critiquing writing, not advocating for violence. honestly it's like you skipped over the actual discussion to make it all about something it’s not. get out of my notifs.

And who turned what into a whole drama. Matter of fact, what conversation? Ours? OP never responded to you and good on them because one little comment about the difference between opinions, criticism and death threats has got you practically foaming at the mouth.

And maybe like, go to therapy and deal with why some random comment that according to you "had nothing to do with the conversation" has got you so wound up. But maybe that'd require some introspection you're not quite capable of yet.

LMAO GIRL. calling other people “sanctimonious” while pretending you’re just calmly stating facts, but your entire point hinges on twisting what was actually being discussed. the issue here is YOU brought that into a conversation where it wasn’t the topic, you felt compelled to respond to MY comment out of all those comments you said were actually wishing ill on the author. so naturally, i responded that that wasn’t the case, and you still kept going.

and the whole “i have an actual busy life, just look at the long hours between replies” thing. are you trying to imply that because i replied sooner, i must be unreasonably invested or somehow less busy or something? i was simply online at the time. it doesn’t make you special, and it doesn’t give your argument more weight. replying slowly isn’t a personality trait or a sign of superiority—it just means your phone wasn’t in your hand.

and for someone who claims they don’t care, you also spent multiple replies trying to redefine the conversation instead of acknowledging that maybe you misread the context. saying “OP didn’t respond to you” isn’t the slam dunk you think it is. just shows you’re arguing with someone about a point you inserted, not one that was present to begin with.

I do like facts, so let's stick to those. Fact: opinions and criticism are not the same. You cannot defend shitty opinions as a whole and then say "that has nothing to do with the conversation" when someone points out that some of those shitty opinions include death threats.

Seeing as what I said had "nothing to do with the conversation" you could've simply ignored my response. But you chose to take it as a personal slight and now here we are. I do enjoy the entertainment, though.
