Yes he does but it's barely mentioned and not that relevant as a plot line , its not brought up as a big topic either it's was just slipped in there atleast in the novel it was! but as for elliot writing the letters~~ I won't spoil it any further than what you asked for ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
