Yep grey hair dude is gay and is really in love with the pink hair (or that is what we have been "told"). But he decided not to confess because he doesn't wanna lose the friendship and connection they have.
However, I find it a little bit "weird" because there has been some chapters (I believe mostly in the main/side chapters) that they had some connection. Examples: - When it was NewYears Eve (fastfoward a couple of years) and after YuYang and Lihuan finished talking with their parents. The friends came and both pink and grey hair had the same red scarf. Although maybe it's just my mind that relates having the same apparel to being together but I wanna believe so.
- How pink hair looked at grey hair in one of the chapters while sleeping. It was super sweet and heart warming. (don't know the chapter)
And I can't remember more. But either way if he ends up with him or not, they both should be happy. And be with someone they want and not suffer, that it what it seems that is happening to grey hair.
