I will respectfully disagree. Hes just busy af with work and then also doesn't have confidence because Gabriel is younger than him so I feel like he has a complex about that. Not everyone is able to show their true feeling so easily. I don't think he is disingenuous
Maybe not in the beginning, but it is clear that Luke has become more infatuated as it went on. There is even a monologue of how much he finds Gabriel lovable. It's just Luke's personality to prefer to be driven by rational mind than emotion. Maybe for some people, they find Luke cold, but for me, I can totally relate to Luke, because I hate letting my emotions take over me. Luke's rationality is a breath of fresh air in the world of Yaoi, where it is mostly driven by emotion.

Surely you can see the title pretty much refers to Luke. Be gentle to me is essentially what Gabriel asks Luke for, and as the series went on, Luke gradually becomes more gentle, more caring, and more accomodating to Gabriel.
As for being insecure, you are absolutely correct, because you are feeling what Gabriel is feeling right now. Gabriel is starting to question who he truly loves and whether Luke truly loves him. That is what the manhwa has been building the story towards all along. That is why their relationship has a lot of room to grow, for both Gabriel and Luke.
Anyway, if you ever been feeling insecure in your relationship, talk it out. Communication is the key to all relationship. Luke does love Gabriel in his own way, but if Gabriel does not voice his concern, he would not know therefore cannot make amends.
