Ironic. This just means the author is following the trope of trashy top with naïve and arguably dumb bottom. On top of this, there's so little communication that drama arose from it?

It's like following a cardboard cut-out of "Yaoi 101" instructions with no real creativity. The characters are perfectly capable to be lovable but the writing is getting worse as if it wasn't bad enough already.
