i’m not here to defend jaekyung at all (i hate the guy), but i think people saying he’s had no character development in this chapter is a little odd. and no, my point isn’t going to be him realizing his feelings for kim dan.
i think the easiest way to tell that his character has BEGAN to develop in this chapter is his admit of defeat. kim dan has him beat. before jaekyung could and would never admit defeat, but in this chapter, he admits defeat.
i don’t mean to rant, and i absolutely do not like jaekyung (like i cannot stand this man. i can’t even reread most of this story bc of how much i hate him), but i can’t let that hate blind me from his development, despite how small it is. hopefully it he just keeps going up from here, because let’s face it, kim dan and jaekyung are going to end up together anyway, so he might as well be a good person when that happens
The way you said you "cannot stand this man" felt so personal and diplomatic all the way, it made me laugh. Anyway yeah, there was character development. People are now used to see only this character being a monster level jackass, that's why it feels very awkward to them and makes them think there is no development ongoing
Oh no i wasn't trying to point out to you "where others are coming from" as to why they don't see character development or excuse them. I was honestly trying to see their way before actually commenting on the fact that yes, there has been, like you said, i meant to said you were right. I say it because it's simply an objective thing. Character development is character development, doesn't really matter if this is deep classical novel level of character development or daryl dixon level of character development. That's why i understood you completely when you said people where odd for not admitting said development, because you are right. The "i lost" scene shows it perfectly. What always pushed Jk's life all this time was winning, that's the only scheme and reason of being admitted in his life, so in this case people fail to understand that "losing" to someone else is literally his overall being and everything of his up until now ceasing to be. Mind you Jk ain't my favorite mangago dude either but in this case i simply gotta be 100% realistic just like you
it felt a little shallow at the end. i wish we got to know more, like what actually caused the virus? why is hohyun the only one who had antibodies against the virus?
i’m not saying we need to understand the loop, because i think not understanding makes it more fun to read, but i think some things could’ve been done better ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
i don’t know what to do with this story. i want to drop it but…
jihyung likes yisu(?). yisu swears he hates jihyung but he finds him hot. does yisu like the president? the president seems to like yisu. the president adopts yisu and makes him his son for the succession to proceed smoothly after jihyung ran away from home and basically abandoned his duties as director for a sky-b subsidiary (he’s the president’s biological son). the president wants good relationship with his son, jihyung, but jihyung hates the president because the president killed his mother (not confirmed at all).
messy. jihyung and yisu are fucking, but yisu is also fucking the president. mind you, both are now legally his brother and father, respectively. WHAT IS GOING ON?!
… atp i’m reading to see how the author is gonna wrap everything up at the end and i’m so suspicious of the president’s secretary (whose name i can’t remember for the life of me) that i need to know what he seems to be plotting.
all in all, reading this feels like watching a trashy soap opera; you want to stop but it’s damn near impossible to bring yourself to exit out of the show.
i’m so invested in the office politics that i genuinely can’t bring myself to care for the fucked yo relationships. let them feel pride for working for their company, please
NO WAIT I THOUGHT IT WAS A NORMAL THEORY idk anything about the next episodes, it's just that the dad clearly didn't and there was that chap where the secretary was being all shady about having to take care of Yisu after the president passed out drunk in the car. And all of the confusing circumstances around the mom's death, it would also explain how the president (even if he's an asshole) was constantly missing on his son's events, since the secretary (who might be obsessed) wouldn't tell him shit. Like maybe he didn't tell Kang about his son being in the hospital "because work is important" but is actually just getting him away from his family? Because honestly the president doesnt seem to be that awful of a person, like yeah he's a dick but not kill-his-wife-and-hate-my-son dick yknow
that’s a good fucking theory omgg. and it makes sense, too, because the secretary really is being so sketchy. yah! the whole time i was reading i was like “the president and jihyung have a shit relationship, but i don’t really get the feeling that the president HATES jihyung or anything”. IF THE FACT THAT THE SECRETARY DIDN’T TELL THE PRESIDENT ABOUT JIHYUNG BEING SICK AND IN HOSPITAL IS TRUE IMMA FLIP MY SHITTT
IKR YOU AND ME BOTH If it's true I wanna beat him up so bad, tiny jihyung deserved better. Anyways, idk about the rest but I'm pretty sure the secretary has something to do with the mom so we'll have to wait and see, also thank you for liking my theory (?) I might just be delulu because the president is my type tho
