zhenya doesn't abuse him from this point forward as he is finally developing romantic feelings for taekjoo. and the motel scene is important because their first kiss signals that those feelings are mutual. and part2 (volumes 6-10) zhenya will go through a regret arc to the point where he is forced to accept taekjoo never coming back to him because of all the abuse he put him through (volumes 1-3).

also literally every single day he essentially uses regret to be better to taekjoo; because he knows that if he treats him like how he did in the past, taekjoo WILL hate and leave him. so zhenya is walking on eggshells the entire relationship.

and he suffers during their relationship too (in part due to taekjoo being a negligent lover). he'll literally try to kill himself, abuse painkillers, starve himself, isolate etc.

so like cool it cause cna has one of the most reasonable black flag redemptions. it's not sappy 180 bullshit, it's a slow burn change that is genuine BUT doesn't force him to abandon his "psikh" nature. And the literal best part of CNA is how believable taekjoo falling in love with zhenya is
