Every adult has intercourse, but when people don't care about the story and only care about *those* scenes; then it's a problem. I think anyone can read BL/Yaoi, but they shouldn't compare it to real life.

Yaoi 's target audience was originally hetero Asian women between 18-25. They were experiencing romance vicariously through the uke's role bc they were sexually oppressed culturally. That is why the uke has to be taken and it's always 'you say no but your ultrasensitive nipples and boner say yes' stuff. It's how they get away with no lube in most of the non-omegaverse stories...none of this was designed for gay men or else it would be more realistic like bara.
For me personally, I wanted good romance like kamisama kiss or even maidsama but i got so annoyed with these big tiddy brainless women, that is when I gave yaoi a try. Even now I have to sift through all the rape to love stuff to find some gems but it's a decent read.

You see those shit where they throw sex after sex, yes basically they fetish it, and sometimes you'll see other fans be like "But they didn't do the deed too bad" Those are heavily fetish and The way the some of the fans go out and say "Straight comics are boring I'd rather read yaoi" That's another red flag cause they hate straight people but would be weirded out by Yuri And that's why the concept of Yaoi being disgusting has been floating around cause of it's fetishize sex scene being thrown at, I'm not sure about the shounen Ai yet, I haven't done my research on that

Shounen ai has no sex it's either friendship/bromance or implied love without lust.
For me, I don't read a lot of shounen ai. I like romance and since I'm grown I want to see the full relationship develop into a physical one. So, does fetishism mean they only read yaoi for the smut? Idk. I don't see a problem with that occasionally.

Now imagine a mlm reader reads yaoi, since the reader is mlm and not woman it makes sense cause the story itself is mlm and that's such things like the fandom Fujoshi is weird af cause it's a woman calling themself a fan of something that doesn't relate to them and them revolving their personality by being a Woman likes Two man/boys having sex or Having a relationship with each other, It's like a 21 yrs old man liking a 14yrs old girl, the girl is a minor and the 21 is an adult he should be liking a Woman not a girl

See the problem here some people would read a shounen Ai and they'd be like "Damn I wish this has sex scene, It would made it better" or they would be like "Who's top who's bottom" even tho the thing's they're reading is completely a shounen Ai, that's where you see the fetishization,,, tbh some people are now Trying to do things like "if it's about mlm only mlm would read it" cause of how bizarre the Yaoi fandom gets. Now what I'm saying is based by experience and some things I saw, this is not a fact, you don't have to like it nor believe it
