Brooo it pisses me off at superficial Victor is! He claims to love Henry but only thrives off of the physical aspects and hardly appreciates Heart, HENRY’S LITERAL HEART but tolerates the a-hole with Henry’s d!ck….
Starting to believe that they were never truly in an exclusive rls and that Henry in a way was using Victor for his own gain but ended up falling in love just before his death (which is why Heart is so clingy but Head is so distant)

Sighhh this story has such potential and I want to stick through and see what the author will cook up but some of the plot is killing my spirit!
Like others have said in the comments: communication sucks, author isn’t properly using the ML to his fullest potential, sex scenes are lowk mid, has the same overdone historical plot (somebody gets saved, their in debt, has a terrible family life, they get cock blocked by crazy nobles, they suddenly fall in love) which I don’t rlly hate bc it’s so good when done well.
BUT. Josei needs to do better! I feel like a lot of people’s frustrations similar to my own is that the couple only has sex and that the ML is surface leveled and we only unlock him being compassionate after they did it. It would’ve been so much better for the story and rls buildup itself if the author waited for intimacy, they should’ve had a buildup of at least twenty chapters where the FL found out abt her position and felt insecure that the ML wouldn’t do anything with her yet him treated her with dignity and kindness and eventually to warm up to her more as a PERSON (I feel like he treats her a little to objectively sometimes), this would’ve helped so much with tension and a confession that would’ve solved him revealing himself also being a beastkin + his plans/feelings for her; plus that would’ve been an epic first sex scene bc both of them would’ve obviously wanted it.
(To me their first few sex scenes were so mid and lowk disgusting because the ML treated it like a “punishment” or a way to put her in her place and not in the good way. It also felt like the FL never wanted to have sex with him but did it at first because she didn’t want to be abandoned. The way the ML used her trauma against her in a way is so fucking twisted because her also has a similar experience!)
I read all the way until chap 37 and this is what I think…
1. So messed up that author could’ve built this up as a forbidden childhood bestie relationship /w hierarchical troubles but INSTEADDD decided to make the ml assault/rape (literally tried to knock her up) AND kidnap the fl for the next ~30ish chapters
2. Fl denies ml MULTIPLE times over 25 chaps but suddenly loves him?? Wasn’t even a slow burn Stockholm syndrome thing. This shouldn’t been labeled as psychological…
3. Fl finally escapes ml but only bc now the ml has a change of heart…after she professes her love… which he’s repeatedly asked for her…
4.Fl finally is home and she goes on this manipulative rampage with her family where she gets engaged to her (half)brother and keeps the ml on the down low so that she can be King and officially make the ml her lover so that they can have babies…
5. Literally the last breaking point. The (half)brother is understandably upset bc she’s acting like a whore and only wanted power bc of the ml…but it’s just so weird bc they’re SIBLINGS (I understand historical accuracy). I hate how they’re lowkey making me side /w the brother bc the ml and fl need to get a reality check. For her in the beginning to understand her role and standing in society, she’s throwing it all away for some d!ck (I KNOW ITS BECAUSE OF THE POWERS)
Overall: this could’ve been so heat and cool but the author just had to be a SA obsessed weirdo. Don’t think I’ll even try to pick this up again
