I get the Uke not wanting to feel indebted to this rich man but selling the gifts someone bought for you right in their face is just rude. It’s not even like he sold them for close to the retail price. This Uke sold luxury goods to the other staff for $50 a piece. Then the person who bought the gifts had to come back and see other people wearing the gifts he bought the uke. Uke kept parading a moral high ground but is just as shitty himself. Does the seme deserve that treatment just because he’s rich? Would Uke ever have done that to a normal person who bought him luxury goods with their hard earned money?
I started this but had to drop. When I started it, it was funny af so I continued but around ch 20, the FL just felt more annoying and childish as time went on. I really really tried but had to drop at ch 28. They try to portray her as smart and powerful in some scenes but she acts a certain way most of the time so she ultimately comes off as spoilt and a brat. Maybe it gets better after ... hence why all the good comments but I'm too weak. I give up here.
From Chapter 17 When the emperor disguised as a dark skinned guy he started getting odd comments like "......that's why he looks like shit" "you don't deserve to know my name you ragtag" and some other things. It did not rub off on me well and that is why I am dropping this. Dark skinned characters should not be used in this way. Even if this was set in the old times, there are actually people who go through discrimination just because they are dark skinned. I really wonder why everyone chose to ignore that. guess people really do pick and choose what issues they want to speak on.
It's not black face.
The reason why dark skin is considered unfavorable is because in many asian cultures, for hundreds of years pale skin has been the beauty standard.
The paler and more pure your skin looked the more beautiful you were.
If you had dark skin it largely meant you were poor, and that you worked outside all day like a farmer, and were thus looked down upon.
It has nothing to do with race, but classism instead.
I don’t see how that changes the fact that it making ur skin darker and it doesn’t really matter if it to look poor or that it’s not specifically for back people or anything. someone else’s skin is like that just normally. In your regards it makes sense in the story but they could have any other way to look poor.
Honestly tho I gave up on reading it’s kinda wack so agreed to disagree (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
No I wasn't disagreeing with you just explaining the perspective
It is kinda wack I stopped reading it too
It causes alot of controversy in places like China south Korea and the Philippines because alot of celebrities will bleach their skin which is harmful but because they have the money they get it professionally done, it doesn't cause them too much damage
However there are people who are not as wealthy and will go for cheaper options that often contain very poisonous chemicals (like lead), that can kill you. It's a serious problem and alot of people are trying to push for celebs to stop promoting harmful practices

Firstly … a big thank you to the translations teams for uploading this. Asides that this story was a hot mess. Are people actually shipping both mls??? No chemistry whatsoever and their relationship felt so forced. Bottom was such a pushover. Like the way the top did all that to him and after he was like “But I love you so I’m basically not going to be mad and let it all slide”. Like what????? They tried to make him a power bottom but ended up regressing to the pushover and gentle “do whatever you want to me” bottom stereotype. The top was toxic af…like overbearing and controlling toxic. Every chapter had me like
