i think its nice to finally see maya get the short end of the stick, we've always seen only nemugasa feeling insecure and worried recently and he's tried to tell maya about his concerns but they're not communicating enough to a point where nemu feels safe about maya with ruka... i think its a good change of pace for maya to seriously think about their relationship and how he shouldn't have allowed himself to make nemu feel in such a way. it says a lot that no matter how much they fight maya will always wear their couple ring because he still truly loves him, nemu also messes up his lectures because he's in a tough place so at least it's not only one side that's suffering and they both have to seriously take time off for themselves to consider their own and each other's feelings. honestly, ruka is so annoying but is a good character for developments in this relationship and strengthening their bond

"ur dad is someone who got to the top just by his fists" ... feels more like his mom did than his dad
