can someone that have a brain as miller explain to me what the fuck is he trying to to do
Novel Spoilers
As far as I remember for this scene, Grayson is keeping the kid company for his punishment. He sincerely believes that this kid did something to deserve this form of punishment and because Grayson grew up receiving punishments like this from his father, he believes it is normal. He was also conditioned to just follow through with the punishment to not make his parents madder and make the punishment worse. All that leads him to believe the only way he can actually help this kid is by keeping him company while waiting for his punishment to end to avoid making the kid's father even madder and extending his punishment. He doesn't understand how things are "normally" so he bases things off his own experience which is why he didn't deem that punishment as abuse.

Grayson thought he was helping the kid. he doesn't want to help the kid out because he thinks it will get the kid into more trouble. he thought like that because that's what he did when he was a kid. He was punished and he got into more trouble when he tried to escape from his punishment. So instead of getting the kid out of the punishment, he thought it would be better to keep him company during the punishment (which he also thought it was better to have someone with him when he was punished as a kid too) lol
